YOGA WITH JAMIE

I originally studied yoga simply to deepen my own knowledge and practice.

But as soon as I qualified, I fell in love with teaching — and with sharing the enjoyment, strength and sense of calm that yoga has brought to my own life.

My own practice has developed over the years into a mixture of traditional yoga, mobility work, strength and movement. That's very much reflected in the way I teach.

I now teach private one-to-one clients as well as regular group classes in Dorking, and I love teaching people with completely different levels of experience — from someone stepping onto a yoga mat for the first time to experienced yogis looking to develop their practice.

FAMILY

This was actually a failed attempt to summit Tryfan in Snowdonia with my two boys. We got about 20 minutes from the top and had to call it — it was getting too late to get up and back down safely.

We’ll be back.

My wife and two boys, Tao and Zen, are a constant source of joy and perspective. They’re also the reason for the name Tao & Zen.

I’ve coached at Dorking Rugby Club since 2020, starting with the U7s and now coaching the U13s. Until I started teaching yoga, coaching kids was probably one of the most rewarding things I’d ever done.

Coaching taught me how much I enjoy helping people develop — and that has naturally carried over into the way I teach yoga.
